Based around the interchange and overlap of ideas and techniques presented in my 2005 book "Creative Vision", this workshop is hands-on practical, and thought-provoking in equal measure. Working with your own photography projects and Photoshop software, the workshop is ideal for enquiring minds and a willingness to collobroate and explore a range of creative approaches for artist photographers of all kinds. Saturday 19 Oct 10-4pm £75/person - Bring a friend for half price
Early 2020 sees the long-awaited (2nd edition) publication of my 2010 book "Design Principles" pub. by Bloomsbury. This workshop focuses on how design theory applied to your own photography helps build more powerful and insightful images. It's far from academic! The techniques and approaches explored arise from knowledge and experience gained over 30 years as a professional photographer and draws on inspiration and ideas I've encountered from art directors, curators, publishers, picture editors and a host of industry professionals alongside a diverse and wide-ranging explorationof photography as a creative medium of expression. Max number 6 places.

Saturday 9th November £60/person - Bring a friend for half price
For artists looking to achieve high quality results when photographing their own 2D or 3D artwork at home - for publication, archive, blog, magazines, work-in-progress, gallery submissions, Etsy shops, or many other uses.
Artists will be shown how to use Light effectively, how to make the right exposure necessary to record detail, colour, form and tone accurately, and many other useful skills and techniques. There will be a short introduction to simple digital image editing techniques and simple printing solutions and students need to bring a camera and a few small pieces of artwork with them. A notebook and USB pen would also be useful.
