Dir: Frank Capra, 1946, USA, 135 mins.
With James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore, Gloria Grahame.

Call us sentimental but this is the film everyone should see at Christmas, especially when the planet appears to be going to hell in a handcart.  James Stewart is perfect as George Bailey, a decent man constantly tested by life's problems.  When his darkest hour arrives it takes an angel to guide him down memory lane to consider what might have been had he never lived.  It's such a prefect piece that Paul McCartney is turning it into a musical!
