Dir: Agnes Varda, 1962, France, 90 mins.
With Corinne Marchand, Antoine Bourseiller, Jean-Luc Godard, Dominique Davray.

Following the wonderful documentary Faces, Places, here is an example of Agnes Varda's early work.  Cleo is a singer, a beautiful young woman living in Paris.  She wanders the streets early one evening, waiting for the results of life threatening medical tests, while the world of busy Parisians surround her.  It's a pioneering example of the French New Wave - 'a thrillingly urgent, intensely sexy and melancholy despatch from the epicentre of the 60s Parisian zeitgeist'.
