FEMALE ARTISTS AND ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM
Wednesday 17th July 2019 - 10:30 am
Pollock and Abstract Expressionism have long been associated with the white American male ego. In contrast, Fiona Fitzgerald will explore the work of contemporary female abstract artists such as Krasner, Nevelson and Mitchell. She will connect both the extent of their fame and their relative exclusion with the responses of their partners, gallery owners, critics and collectors.
This talk relates to the Lee Krasner Living Colour, exhibition at the Barbican Centre
