Following fast on the heels of The Wife, we have yet another film about a husband taking credit for his wife's writing, but this time it's true.  When country girl Colette marries egotistical Henri Gauthier-Villars she is thrilled by their cosmopolitan life style in Paris.  When it becomes clear that all is not well financially Henri recognizes that his new wife has a talent worthy of exploitation.  For Colette the fight is on to claim recognition for her novels published under her husband's nom-de-plume.
