Dir: Hirokazu Kore-eda, 2018, Japan, 121 mins.
With Mayu Matsuoka, Sakura Ando, Kirin Kiki, Lily Franky.

Winner of the Palme d'Or, awarded five stars by The Guardian who describe it as ' a complex, subtle, mysterious film that builds to the most extraordinary surprise ending', this is Kore-eda at his very best.  At its heart is a close knit family struggling to survive by stealing.  When they find a small girl wandering the streets they take her home to join their chaotic but loving clan.  It is a benevolent act but nothing is what it seems.
