Dir: Kathryn Bigelow, 2017, USA, 143 mins.
With John Boyega, Will Poulter, John Krasinski, Hannah Murray.

Kathryn Bigelow has gained the reputation of being the hard hitting director of provocative films.
Here she unpacks 'the anatomy of an uprising' that took place in 1967 Detroit during which 40 people lost their lives.  When state troopers and police joined forces to crush the predominately African  American protestors what followed resembled a war zone rather than a civil protest.  The viewer is immersed in the stories of individuals that culminate in one of America's most shameful events.
