The cultural distance between France and England has always been elastic. In this talk, Fiona Fitzgerald tracks some of the artistic journeys made by Pissarro, Monet and Derain, as well as the more sustained stays by Dalou, Sisley and Legros. She explores interconnections with English artists and Art and asks why certain kinds of work travelled better than others.
