Dir: Wong Kai-Wai, 1996, Hong Kong, 103 mins.
With Takeshi Kaneshiro, Brigitte Chin-Hsia Lin, Faye Wang, Tony Chin-Wai Leung.

The fascinating city of Hong Kong is at the very heart of this movie.  Chungking Mansions is situated in Tsimshatsui, the tourist area, a vast complex of worldly delights.  The atmosphere is frantic, over-crowded, full of possibilities and with many a story to tell, including the fate of two lovelorn cops whose lives briefly cross.  It's art house material with more than a touch of John Luc Goddard and will appeal to all those film buffs who appreciate something different.
