Harmoniemusik made its debut in 1991, giving a series of recitals during a cruise of the eastern Mediterranean. The trip, from Istanbul to Venice, culminated in a chamber production of Mozart's Cosi fan tutte. The group has continued to travel ever since, giving performances in places as far afield as Berlin and the Republic of Yemen.
The ensemble is based in London and performs there regularly in its own series of concerts at Bloomsbury's Conway Hall.
Since 2007 Harmoniemusik has performed regularly at Festivals in France, Belgium and Germany. In 2015 the ensemble was invited to play at the Hukvaldy Festival in the Czech Republic, in a concert which included a performance of Janacek’s ‘Mlaadi’ for wind sextet, performed on Janacek’s birthday in the church where he was organist, situated only a few yards from his place of birth.
