Dir: Lone Scherfig, 2017, UK, 117 mins.
With Bill Nighy, Gemma Arterton, Sam Claflin, Bill Huston.

There’s plenty of humour and screwball banter in this thoroughly enjoyable romance, much of it supplied by Bill Nighy.  It’s 1940 when the shortage of men opens up opportunities for women such as Catrin, who finds herself working on a propaganda film for the Ministry of Information.  This is an affectionate take on the British at war but there is also a serious side that reflects the ever present danger of the times.
