DAN WALSH WITH JIMMY ALDRIDGE AND SID GOLDSMITH

Wednesday 3rd May 2017 - 7:30 pm

Regarded as one of the finest banjo players in the UK, Dan Walsh swings by  Halesworth at the beginning of a mammoth UK and US tour with his newly anticipated album, 'Verging On The Perpendicular’.

Describing what Dan does is no easy task but at the heart of it is British, Irish and American folk music delivered with a healthy dose of funky grooves - all performed with his unique and dazzling take on clawhammer style banjo. Add to all that, poignant songs, astonishing musical departures and lively humour and the result is a truly memorable live show which has engaged audiences across the world.

'The real deal, a demon picker'

'Eclectically inspired and consistently brilliant'
- FROOTS

Joining Dan will be the highly acclaimed duo, Jimmy Aldridge and Sid Goldsmith with their take on traditional and original music of the British Isles, heavily influenced by the songs and singers of East Anglia, where they both grew up.

In the last three years they have built a reputation on the UK folk scene for arresting and moving performances with an  integrity that shines through and a common thread of political struggle, resistance, and justice with songs that are brought to life with sensitive musical arrangements and stunning vocals.
