The talk will be for 30 minutes, with 30 minutes for the Q&A.

We’re encouraging you to send us a question via the Zoom chat function, we will do our best  but we can’t answer all of them, sadly.

Acclaimed biographer of Virginia Woolf and other brilliant literary lives,
Dame Hermione Lee now speaks about her most recent biography and the dazzling life of Tom Stoppard, playwright extraordinaire.

Hermione talks to former Bloomsbury publisher Liz Calder about the experience of writing a biography of one of our greatest playwrights, Tom Stoppard, with fascinating details and stories about his life and work and about her access to her living subject.

With unprecedented access to private papers, diaries, letters, and countless interviews with figures ranging from Felicity Kendal to John Boorman and Trevor Nunn to Steven Spielberg, Hermione Lee builds a meticulously researched and hugely enjoyable portrait of one of our greatest playwrights.

Hermione Lee joins Liz Calder on zoom to discuss her book on Tom Stoppard.
