A flowing, slow-paced matwork class to strengthen core muscles, release back, shoulder and neck tension, improve spinal and joint integrity, increase wellbeing and raise awareness of how to deal with individual problem areas. This is a unique Pilates matwork class with elements from somatic movement practices to build strength without tension, change habitual movement patterns and increase freedom and ease of movement. Limited places available. Pre-booking preferred.

Kat Hesse: Yoga and Pilates teacher, Somatic Movement Educator

After practicing Pilates and Yoga for more than 20 years, Kat qualified as a Pilates teacher with the Pilates Foundation® in 2008. After a further intensive two year training with Tarik Dervish, she qualified as a Yoga teacher and was awarded the level 4 diploma by the British Wheel of Yoga®. She also holds qualifications in Exercise Referral for Lower Back Pain, as a Somatic Movement Educator, as well as a BSc(Hons) degree in Health Science. Kat has taught open classes, special events, on teacher trainings and has delivered workshops for teachers and the NHS. Kat continues to be inspired by her regular teachers, as well as by attending regular workshops, trainings and continuous professional development.
