Call for volunteers!

Posted: Thursday 22nd April 2021

The Cut is the thriving centre of the arts in Halesworth and is a wonderful place to volunteer, make new friends, and see a show.

As the building starts to reopen this Spring we are looking for more volunteers to help make the visitor experience a positive and safe one whether they are attending classes, using the café, or to coming to see a film or event.

We need help from people with all sorts of skills, not just ushering and Front of House (although we need those too) but also gardening, running the monthly lottery, distribution of the programme, and help in the office with admin. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the bar and the café, and we have a new lighting and sound desk and would welcome volunteers that would like to learn how to use it and volunteer for events.

We also have a new project that requires someone to digitally archive all the material that we’ve accumulated for our exhibitions since 2003.

One of our volunteers, Kingsley Elliff said, ‘I volunteered to work at The Cut the evening I moved into Halesworth, it has helped me find friends in the town, and I have got to see a wonderful range of productions. People come from all over the country to see the shows!’

Full training will be given for all the roles, and you will receive a ticket for a Wednesday night film screening as a thank you for your time.
To volunteer just email us with your name and telephone number.
